The BNSF Mainframe emulator has been enhanced with increased security
measures. The emulator now requires that a security token be provided
before access to the BNSF Mainframe will be granted. This token
is automatically provided by the emulator authentication process
(id/password login). Under normal circumstances, an emulator user
will see no difference in the function of the emulator. There are
three scenarios which result in the "Token
Invalid" error (see image
below). These are:
- The applet download did not complete prior to the timeout of
the security token. The tokens are valid only for a short period
of time and then they expire. If you are accessing the emulator
via a slow dialup connection to the internet, the token may time
out prior to the completion of the applet download.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
- The user closed all emulator windows and then attempted to open
a new emulator window by clicking the "New Default 3270 Session"
button on the emulator webpage. The security tokens are "one-time"
use only. New 3270 sessions may only be opened via the button
on the page while there is already a 3270 session window open.
Once all 3270 sessions have been closed, the user must go back
through the login process to start new sessions.
- The Token Invalid error will also be encountered by those individuals
who attempt to access the emulator from other than the BNSF web
site (i.e. their own or a third party web site). The emulator
is accessible ONLY from the BNSF web site.
