Note : Uninstalling and installing non-upgraded versions of Java may effect your ability to access other websites. You may be prompted or forced to update Java at other sites, doing so could disable the emulator again.
Oracle releases periodic Java updates to address security and other issues. Over the past year we have had a couple of instances where these releases have caused problems with our Mainframe Emulator software. To remove the Java version causing this current problem please follow the instructions below.
1. Uninstall all versions of Java from the computer
- a. XP
- i. Click Start Menu
- ii. Click Control Panel
- iii. Open Add/remove Programs
- b. Vista/7
- i. Click Start Menu
- ii. Click Control Panel
- iii. Open Programs and Features
- c. Windows 8
- i. Right Click the screens bottom Left corner and choose Control Panel
- ii. Click Uninstall a Program from the Programs category
- 2. Restart the computer
- a. XP/Vista/7
- i. Click the start menu
- ii. Click the arrow next to shutdown button
- iii. Click restart
- b. Windows 8
- i. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and click Restart
- 3. Reinstall Java version 6 update 45
- a.
Click Here and install Windows x86 online.
- b. Read and then click the Accept License Agreement
