The Texas/New Mexico Permian Basin has been a long-standing and prolific oil source. With new technologies, this 60,000 square mile region is estimated to be producing 1.3 million barrels per day. The Four Corners region of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah is an emerging production area.
