Safety starts with our employees. Thanks to their diligence and our effective safety
processes, we ended 2012 with our all-time lowest injury record. Our ultimate goal is to
eliminate all fatalities and injuries.
BNSF employees share a vision for an injury- and accident-free workplace. They
are trained on risk identification. They look out for one another and are comfortable
questioning any action that could jeopardize safety. Our employees are also trained on a
comprehensive set of safety rules and practices, from federal mandates and rail industry
recommendations to BNSF-specific safety initiatives.
