Initial Report: Train Derailment near Java, MT (Hi Line Subdivision)

On Saturday, October 12 at approximately 06:42 a.m. CDT, we received a preliminary report of a train derailment near Java, MT, which has affected both main tracks. Java, MT is approximately 70 miles east of Whitefish, MT. BNSF field personnel are responding to assess the affected area. The estimated time of opening main track one is Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CDT. The estimated time of opening main track two has not been determined at this time.
