Automotive Network Update for Friday, December 6, 2024
OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
Following the Thanksgiving holiday, we are regaining positive momentum as we move through the first week of December. Key performance metrics, while down during our reporting period, are returning to their strong pre-holiday levels, with notable improvements seen in the latter part of this week, as evidenced by achieving our all-time lowest average terminal dwell yesterday. While total volume was also reduced due to the holiday, freight movements have rebounded during the past several days.
CAPITAL EXPANSION UPDATE
In North Texas, on our Fort Worth Subdivision, we recently completed an approximately 3.5-mile section of new double track through Saginaw, Texas, north of Fort Worth. This is a multi-year effort to add doubletrack segments from Lambert, north of Alliance, down to and across Tower 55 in Fort Worth, to increase train capacity on this route and improve traffic moving to and from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex as well as in and out of Mexico and the Houston complex.

SERVICE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
Significant winter storms are not anticipated, as a calm weather pattern continues to prevail across the western United States. However, an active weather system is expected to generate high winds, with gusts ranging from 60 to 85 mph intermittently throughout Montana and Wyoming through the weekend. Customers may experience delays until conditions improve and traffic can move safely through the area.
