For Medicare-eligible Santa Fe Retirees and Surviving Spouses
For 2017
- The BNSF contribution to your HRA will be $2,650 for each Medicare-eligible retiree and Medicare-eligible spouse (or surviving spouse).
- The "open enrollment" period begins October 15 and ends December 7, 2016.
- If your current medical plan through OneExchange will be offered for 2017 and you elect to keep it, no action is required. Please note plan costs can vary from year to year.
- If your current medical plan will not be available for 2017, you will need to contact OneExchange and schedule an appointment to speak with a licensed Benefits Advisor to choose and enroll in a new plan.
In addition to BNSF's 2017 contribution to your HRA, any unspent funds remaining in your HRA at the end of 2016 are also available to you. You may use HRA funds toward the purchase of your 2017 medical coverage, and also to reimburse eligible out-of-pocket expenses for medical, prescription drug, dental and vision services.
