BNSF's Chairman, President and CEO to Address Merrill Lynch Global Transportation Conference

FORT WORTH, Texas, June 10, 2002:

Matthew K. Rose, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (NYSE:BNI), will address the Merrill Lynch Global Transportation Conference on Thursday, June 13, 2002, at 8:00 a.m. Eastern time.

The presentation will describe BNSF’s franchise, strategic initiatives and financial outlook.
