BNSF's Executive Vice President and CFO to Address Bear Stearns Global Transport and Logistics Conference

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 14, 2002:

Thomas N. Hund, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (NYSE:BNI), will address the Bear Stearns Global Transport and Logistics Conference on Monday, May 20, 2002, at 3:20 p.m. Eastern time.

The presentation will describe BNSF’s financial results, strategic initiatives and outlook for 2002.
