BNSF to Report Second-Quarter Earnings July 24; Analyst's Meeting to Be Accessible via Internet

FORT WORTH, Texas, July 16, 2001:

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (BNSF) (NYSE: BNI) will report second-quarter earnings and other performance results during a live Webcast for financial analysts at 8:45 a.m. Eastern Time July 24, 2001.

Presentation material and the Webcast will be available on BNSF’s Web site at www.bnsf.com. BNSF suggests that those who plan to access the meeting through the Web go to the BNSF site by 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time to download the presentation and install any software required to run the presentation.

For those who cannot listen to the live Webcast, a replay will be available on BNSF’s Web site at approximately noon Eastern Time.
