BNSF to Report First Quarter Earnings April 24 via Webcast

FORT WORTH, Texas, April 18, 2001:

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (BNSF) (NYSE: BNI) will report first-quarter earnings and other performance results during a live Webcast for financial analysts at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time April 24, 2001.

Presentation material and the Webcast will be available on BNSF’s Web site at www.bnsf.com. BNSF suggests that those who plan to access the meeting through the Web go to the BNSF site by 10:15 a.m. Eastern Time to download the presentation and install any software required to run the presentation.

For those who cannot listen to the live Webcast, a replay will be available on BNSF’s Web site about two hours after the meeting concludes at approximately noon Eastern Time.
