BNSF Awarded Top Marks in Canexus Chemicals' Supplier Evaluation

BNSF has received the Canexus Chemicals 2008 Supplier Partnership award for the second time.

"This is demonstrated through the way we work proactively together on Responsible Care® and community-outreach initiatives, through the professional approach to problem resolution shown by BNSF's customer service representatives who are dedicated to Canexus' business, through BNSF's marketing and sales contacts who are committed to ensuring both BNSF and Canexus are communicating efficiently and through BNSF's e-commerce tools that make it easier for us to do business."

Canexus presents the award annually to the supplier that scores the highest on an internal service evaluation measuring transit times, customer service, billing and commitment to the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® initiative.

"Canexus and BNSF share many of the same goals when it comes to safety, responsibility and customer outreach," said Bonnie VanSickle, BNSF general director, field sales. "Responsible Care® reinforces BNSF's commitment to improve the safety and environmental performance of our operations, and we are pleased with our perfect score in that category for this award."

The Responsible Care® initiative requires chemical transporters to continually monitor and improve their efforts in the areas of health, safety, the environment and product stewardship.
