ETD Tip of the Week
2008-12-11
During fourth quarter 2008, BNSF received several hundred new end-of-train devices (ETDs). Keep them looking and running like new by doing the following:
-
Recover them from inbound trains, and store them in a timely manner.
-
Avoid dropping, tossing or dragging them.
-
Charge them as required.
These practices also apply to older ETDs. While they may not be bright, shiny and new, they all have sophisticated electronics that could be damaged by mishandling, which can, in turn, cause ETD failures.
Do your part to prevent ETD failures every day.
