Security Training Required by Friday, Nov. 30
2007-11-19
As 2007 comes to an end, most people are trying to tie up loose ends and complete last-minute details. One requirement to include on your list is to take the 30-minute security awareness training module "Securing America’s Railroads," as previously announced in BNSF News in September and in Railway magazine in October.
The "Securing America’s Railroads" training familiarizes employees with awareness of security risks, such as espionage, sabotage, attacks and other criminal behavior. Additional topics covered include proper recording of observed security risks, appropriate responses and personal safety.
All employees are required to take this training due to the critical nature of security awareness in all of the BNSF office, dispatching and field locations.
Some employees have already received this training through the normal ongoing training processes within each of the departments and crafts. Any employee who has already taken the training will not be required to retake the course. All remaining employees have until Nov. 30 to complete the training.
For exempt employees, the training has been added to their Learning Profile on Leadership University, which may be accessed through Employee Online. Scheduled employees will receive the training in one of a variety of methods based on their craft. If you have questions about enrolling, exempt personnel should email Darlene Jones with the Technical Training Center at Darlene.jones@bnsf.com. Scheduled personnel should contact their supervisor or manager of Field Training.
This training will be part of a series of courses on security for all BNSF employees in the future.
